Fans who push boundaries: scripts to say no
Updated · LuxOnly Creators
Short answer: you can say no and keep it friendly. Use three levels: decline and offer something you do, redirect if they insist, and end the conversation if they keep pushing. Anything off the platform (meetups, outside calls, outside payment) is a firm no. If someone threatens you, tries to find out where you live, or won't let it go, restrict, block and report, and save evidence.
What kinds of situations come up?
These are the ones creators talk about most. If you've hit any of them, it's not you:
- Asking for calls, meetups or contact off the platform.
- Requests for things outside your limits, or fantasies that make you uncomfortable.
- Fans who want a lot of your time and never buy anything.
- Fans who get emotionally attached and act like you're in a relationship.
- Questions about where you live, your real name, or your routine.
How do I say no without losing the fan?
A no works better when it's short, warm and comes with an alternative. Copy and adapt these:
Level 1: decline and offer what you do
"That's not something I do, but I think you'd love [something you do offer]. Want me to send it over?"
Level 2: redirect if they insist
"I hear you, but my answer's still no. I keep things fun and inside my limits here. If that works for you, I'm all in."
Level 3: close it if they keep pushing
"I've said no a couple of times now, so I'm going to leave this here. Take care."
You don't owe anyone an explanation for your limits. "It's not something I do" is a complete answer.
What about requests to meet or move off the platform?
That's a firm no, every time. Meetups, outside calls, your number, other apps, payment outside the platform. It's about your safety and keeping your account in good standing.
"I only chat here. It's the only place I do this. But I'm happy to keep the fun going right here."
And fans who want my time but never buy?
Being kind doesn't mean being available all day. Keep replies short, mention what you offer once, and move on.
"Love chatting with you! Just so you know, my custom and exclusive content is where I spend most of my time. Let me know if anything catches your eye."
If you'd rather we handle it: at LuxOnly our team runs the accounts, chat and promo, and you focus on creating. Your accounts and bank stay in your name. See if you're a fit, it takes a minute.
What if a fan gets emotionally attached?
Be kind and clear. Don't feed the idea of a real relationship, and don't make promises you won't keep.
"I really appreciate you being here, and I mean that. Just so we're on the same page, this is my work, and I keep it here. I'm glad our chats make your day better."
If the attachment turns into jealousy, pressure or guilt-tripping, treat it like any other boundary push and move up the levels.
When should I restrict, block or report?
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Keeps pushing after level 3 | Restrict or block |
| Insults, harassment or nonstop messages | Block and report on the platform |
| Asks where you live, or mentions details you never shared | Save evidence, block, report, and review your privacy settings |
| Threatens to leak your content or asks for money | Don't pay. Save evidence, report on the platform and to the police |
Before you block someone who crossed a line, take screenshots with dates. If anything escalates, you'll have proof.
How do I protect my energy?
- Set chat hours and stick to them. Being reachable 24/7 is a fast way to burn out.
- Write your limits down once, so you're not deciding them again every time someone pushes.
- Mute notifications outside your chat hours.
- Talk to someone you trust if a conversation leaves you shaken. That's what support is for.
How does it work with LuxOnly?
At LuxOnly, our chat team (all women) talks to your fans using your style and inside the limits you set in writing. You can read every conversation whenever you want, you can change your limits list at any time, and saying no never has consequences for you.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose fans if I say no?
You might lose the ones who only wanted what you don't offer. Most fans respect a friendly, clear no, especially when you offer something you do instead.
Should I block someone or just ignore them?
If they're simply annoying, ignoring or restricting is often enough. If they insult you, threaten you, or ask for personal details, save evidence, then block and report.
